When I walked in this class on the first day, I had prior knowledge to photography because I had taken film photography. However, in that class we did nothing on the computer. I was hoping to learn more about photoshop than how to use a camera since I was pretty familer with camera. My mom also had gotten a new camera recently, so that made taking photos much easier. My photo shop skills greatly improved while taking this class. I barely knew how to do anything on photoshop, at beast I could make a photo black and white. I also did not have access to photoshop before this class. The first couple photo shop assignments were a struggle, I got them done well but the process was slow and frustrating. As the trimester went on I was able to use my photoshop skills more efficiently. In conclusion, I really enjoyed taking this class. It was nice to be able to take pictures, and work on my photoshop skills!

For this assignment we were asked to combine pictures onto on canvas. For Puns, we made three photos and combined but for Photo Dictionary we only made two. PunsPhoto Dictionaryn this assignment I learned how to take ordinary photos and edit them with other components to create something creative. I simply had no idea what to do for a pun so I looked them up!
For this this assignment I chose to take pictures of Justin using different angles on the camera and experimenting with light. Best PhotoShutter Speed: Aperture: ISO: Editing: I messed with the lighting and contrast to make the colors of his shirt more vibrant. From this assignment,I learned how to reflect the light onto someone's face when taking a picture as well as using portrait mode and different settings to emphasize the subject.
In this assignment, we took multiple pictures of our classmates in a location throughout the school and placed them into photoshop to create a single image with this person multiple times. I learned how to stack photos and continued to learn how to work with layers in order to get multiple images of the same person into one photo. I did this by layering the images and then painting in or out the layer masks to make the image.
This weekend I chose to go out to shoot nature. I really enjoyed the fall colors, but as I went out to shoot, the clouds began to cover the sun, but as I continued shooting, the sun came out and lit up the greens and reds in the photos. I went to Teasmer rd. Best PhotoShutter Speed:1/640 Aperture: f16 ISO:800 I learned a lot about angles in this photo shoot. I tried to Stand where I could see light rays coming through.
Assignment Description: For this assignment we used studio lighting and natural lighting in order to compare the pictures taken. We used studio lighting and backdrop for the studio lighting picture, and for the natural lighting picture we used natural light and a light reflector in order to make the image brighter. For this assignment I learned a lot about lighting. My studio shots all had shadows, luckily I was able to edited it out. However, if I were to do this assignment again I would work on my shadows and play with the light.
For this assignment I took a couple of my favorite photos and turned them into black and white. Aperture: 3.5 Shutter Speed: 1/220 ISO: 160 Obviously I turned the photo to black and white but I also messed with the reds and the yellows to make certain parts darker, like her nose. I learned more about photoshop in this assignment than taking photos I would say, I did not know that you could mess with the greens, reds, and yellows while in black and white. This made my photos better. You can see the first couple I did, I did not mess with the colors and they are not as good as the photos I did after.
Assignment: For this assignment we were told to do color pop and two other photoshop task. Color pop:BlendingPoloroidWhat I learned: The color pop was very simple, I had no troubles with it. The blending assignment was also very easy but was next step up. Then I did the polaroid which at first was very difficult. I had to ask a lot of questions because I felt like the explanations were not very detailed. But, once I figured out the format, duplicating it was simple.
I chose color for photo 3 because I really noticed the leaves changing color this weekend. Fall is my favorite time of year and I was so excited about the color change. Best PhotoAperture: 4.2 Shutter Speed: 1/80 ISO: 200 I edited the contrast so the leaf looked brighter. I really enjoyed taking these photos because I love fall so much. The landscape and Macro settings on the camera helped me take better photos for this assignment.
I chose to do event for photo 4 because I was at a horse show in Kentucky. Doing event here was very easy because there was always something going on. Aperture: 4.2 Shutter speed: 1/1250 ISO: 100 No editing done on this photo. I tried to get jumping photos but most of them were not quite as clear as I would like, so I learned I need a faster shutter speed than I was using so they can be clear pictures. This was a fun assignment for me because it was around something I love.
